Developing Sight Vocabulary Workbooks A - C have been designed to teach children to read and write the 45 high frequency words recommended for children in Reception in the NLS. Each workbook introduces 15 new words. Workbooks A1 and A2 focus on 30 of the words from the NLS word list for Year 1, which also appear frequently in the Becoming a Reader A fiction strand of Cambridge Reading. This pack contains one of each of the workbooks. The workbooks are intended to be used as part of, or immediately after, a guided reading session which focuses on a target book from the Sight Vocabulary strand of Cambridge Reading. The Developing Sight Vocabulary Workbooks are not only a practical resource of activities for children to use to practise writing the sight words. They are also a valuable reading resource for the children to re-use and re-visit independently. Cambridge Reading is a major reading scheme which provides stimulating books and support materials for the teaching of reading and the development of literacy throughout the primary years.
